New Tee It Up For The Troops (TIUFTT) President Paul Anderson presents a check for $30,000 to Intrepid Fallen Heroes President David Winters on the flight deck of the Aircraft carrier Intrepid on April 16. TIUFTT has generously supported the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and other efforts serving our nation’s military personnel and veterans and their families. This week’s contribution is the most recent of many donations to the Fund over the past several years.

The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund has announced a partnership with the Columbus Citizens Foundation (CCF), to raise up to $250,000 for the construction of nine NICoE (National Intrepid Center  of Excellence) Satellite Centers at military bases around the country, designed to provide new hope for those suffering from Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Post Traumatic Stress (PTS).

It is estimated that as many as 625,000 returning servicemembers are suffering from TBI or PTS today, with over 60% failing to be properly diagnosed. They need our help now.

It was Lt. Col. Richard Brunk’s second Sunday in Baghdad, and so, of course, there was church. Only 16 soldiers showed up, but that was good for that busy day, election day across Iraq. The presiding chaplain asked everyone to take seats up front. It was a providential move.

In the third year since its inception the Memorial Day Marathon Races held in Lenox, MA has already raised over $30,000 in 2012 and that number continues to climb.  In its first year the race only raised $1,800 for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund but in just two short years the number has grown exponentially.  Aided by a partnership with Crowdrise, a social networking/online fundraising site the MDM Races were able to better reach out to runners with a common interest in raising money for the IFHF.  Crowdrise is also used by the New York City Marathon as its fundraising portal.
